In short: Every diagram in Diagramium's gallery is a starting point, not a source of truth. They are illustrative examples — most written to be opened, edited and made your own, and a smaller set built as watch-only presentations you can play and share but not edit. Some are simplified on purpose, some are drafted with the help of AI, and some will fall out of date. Nothing here is professional advice of any kind. Check anything that matters against your own authoritative sources before you rely on it, and take responsibility for what you publish from it.

1. What this page covers

This disclaimer applies to the example diagrams Diagramium provides — the gallery templates you can browse from Explore and search, the narration and notes attached to them, the generated artwork, and any text or figures they contain.

It does not apply to the diagrams you create. Those are yours, and what they say is your responsibility (see the Terms of Use).

It is in addition to, not instead of, the "as is" disclaimer in the Terms of Use. Where this page and the Terms overlap, the Terms govern.

2. Examples, not authority

Our example diagrams exist to show what a diagram of a given kind looks like and to save you starting from an empty canvas. They are teaching aids and drafting shortcuts.

They are not:

a reference work, standard, or specification;
a statement of how any named organisation, product or protocol actually works;
a current or complete account of any subject;
endorsed, reviewed or approved by any organisation named in them.

A diagram titled after a real standard, algorithm, law or system is our plain-language illustration of it. Read the standard.

3. Simplification is deliberate

A diagram that fits on a screen has left things out. That is what makes it useful, and it is also its main limitation.

We routinely simplify: collapsing steps, omitting edge cases and error paths, rounding figures, using approximate proportions, and choosing one common variant where several exist. A process diagram shows the ordinary path, not every exception. A technical diagram shows the shape of a system, not its specification.

Do not infer from an omission that something does not exist.

4. Accuracy, currency and AI assistance

We take care with our example content, and AI tools are part of how it is made. Some text is drafted or refined with AI assistance and may be reviewed or edited by a person. In our narrated tours, the step illustrations are produced by image-generation software and the narration audio is synthesised speech, not a human recording; the scripts behind that narration are prepared by us, with AI assistance, and may be reviewed or edited by a person. Generated illustrations in particular are symbolic rather than exact: a picture of a heart, a map, a machine or a historical scene conveys the idea and should not be relied on as scientifically, anatomically, geographically or historically precise. We do not warrant that any diagram, illustration or narration is accurate, complete, current or fit for any purpose.

Subject matter moves. Standards are revised, laws are amended, organisations restructure, and best practice changes. A diagram is a snapshot of our understanding when it was written, and we do not undertake to update any of them on any schedule.

5. No professional advice

Nothing in our example diagrams is professional advice, and no relationship of adviser and client is created by using them. In particular, they are not:

Medical or health advice. Diagrams of the body, of conditions, or of clinical processes are educational illustrations. They are not for diagnosis, treatment or clinical decisions. Consult a qualified health professional.
Legal advice. Diagrams of legislative processes, rights, government structures or compliance flows are simplified summaries and may not reflect current law in your jurisdiction. Consult a qualified lawyer.
Financial or tax advice. Consult a qualified professional.
Engineering, security or safety guidance. Architecture, network, cryptography and threat-model diagrams are conceptual. Do not implement a security control, a system design, or anything with a safety consequence from a diagram alone; work from the relevant standard, specification or code, and have it reviewed.
Educational certification. Where a diagram references a curriculum, it is our reading of publicly available material and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any ministry, board or examining body.

6. Third-party names, marks and figures

Example diagrams may name real organisations, products, standards, technologies or places. Those names are used nominatively — to identify the subject being illustrated — and remain the property of their respective owners. Their use does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement or approval, in either direction.

Statistics, dates and figures shown in an example diagram are illustrative. Where a figure comes from a public source it is our reading of that source at the time of writing; verify it before you cite it. Where a diagram or its notes link to or cite an external source, that source can change, move or become unavailable after we wrote about it.

7. Content about Indigenous peoples, history and culture

Some example diagrams cover Indigenous peoples, history, treaties and culture. These are brief, general summaries drawn from public sources, and they are not authored, reviewed or endorsed by the nations, communities or organisations they describe.

They cannot represent the perspective of any particular nation or community, and terminology, governance and treaty matters differ between them. For anything beyond a general overview, go to the nation or community concerned and to their own published materials.

8. Your responsibility when you use one

When you open, edit, export, publish, present or share a diagram that started from one of our examples, you are responsible for what it says. In particular, you should:

verify the content against your own authoritative sources;
not present it as ours, or as endorsed by us or by anyone named in it (see the Terms of Use);
not use it as the sole basis for a decision with legal, financial, medical, safety or security consequences; and
exercise independent professional judgement where your field requires it.

9. Our liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on an example diagram or its content. The limitation of liability in the Terms of Use sets this out in full and applies here.

This does not apply where the law does not allow it. Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any condition, warranty, right or remedy that applicable law — including applicable Ontario consumer-protection legislation, with any non-waivable consumer rights — implies or imposes and does not permit to be excluded, restricted or modified. If you are a consumer, those rights prevail over anything here.
